Theory Hazit is nasty. There’s no other way to say it; from lyrics, to beat production, to all out skill. The dude is just nasty … and he knows it. Is that wrong to say of a former Christian Hip Hop emcee? Former, you say? Well, it’s not what you think. I would put Theory in the category of a Christian who’s an emcee at this point in his career. (if you don’t know the controversy of that statement – you are really better off)

“Reality bites and weighs a ton,
it’s time to roll with God cause there’s nowhere to run, I wanna come home.”

But let’s look at the man’s work. He has worked with emcees and talent from Ohmega Watts, Othello, Sho Baraka, Strange Fruit Project, Oddisee, Shai Linne, KJ-52, Wildchild from LootPack, LMNO, D-Maub, B.Reith, and is a member of the super group Scibbling Idiots. He has drop what I’d consider some classic CHH albums along his career, like his debut album “Extra Credit”, “Lord Fire”, and “Thr3e” These albums are great examples of his work, lyrics, God, and production value. In his songs he talks about real life, the hardships of the inner city, of crews gone wrong, and the love of God in his heart and actions. So, it’s safe to say he’s not your typical youth group emcee.

A place where some people can’t shine for themselves
So when they murder they just crying for help
And it seems like we make the whole world go round
And everybody wanna be down
Copy the sounds of (the ghetto)

Real talk. Real beats. Real God. That’s how I’d describe his music. There’s controversy in every emcee’s walk, and Theory is not without them. But if I were to look at his body of work, I’m going to err on the side of Good King.

I raised my hand and said I was guilty
And then immediately they went numb
Nobody feels me
Too sick for the healer to heal me
The four walls of the last days are closing in and I’m filthy
